WNCC softball to hold softball camp April 24 and 26

The Western Nebraska Community College softball team will be holding a Spring Skills Camp on Tuesday and Thursday, April 24 and 26 at Volunteer Field in Scottsbluff.
Jessica (Ventoza) Pierce, who played for the Cougars in 2007 and then went on to win a NCAA Division I national championship at the University of Washington in 2009, will help run the camp and give insight on what it takes to win a national title.
The camp is designed for the area youth to fine tune their softball skills just in time for the summer softball season. The participants will learn offensive and defensive skills.
The camp is open for girls in grades kindergarten through 12th grade. The camp will run from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. each day. The cost is just $35 if registered by April 20 and $40 afterwards. Participants are asked to bring a glove, helmet, bat, shoes, water bottle, and sun screen. This year’s Cougar players and coaches will work the camp, along with Jessica Ventoza.
Registrations forms are available on the WNCC athletic website at sports.wncc.net. For more information, contact Cougar softball coach Maria Winn-Ratliff at 308-635-6189 or at winnm@wncc.net.
