WNCC will hold send off for volleyball team on Monday at 10:50 a.m.


Western Nebraska Community College will hold a public send off for the Cougar volleyball team on Monday, Nov. 14, at 10:50 a.m. in the pit area of the college. The Cougars will depart for their 13th straight National Tournament appearance shortly after the send off. The national tournament will take place in West Plains, Mo.
The send off will include congratulatory messages, the presentation of the Region IX championship trophy to the college, as well as recognition of the players and coaches.
The public is encouraged to attend to wish the 38-1 Cougars good luck on their trip to defend last year’s national championship.
The Cougars will open the national title hunt Thursday at 10 a.m. (MST) against West Texas College. WNCC enters the tournament as the No. 2 seed, while West Texas comes with a 21-12 record and the No. 15 seed.
