Former WNCC soccer player Jessica Taylor named RMAC defensive player of the week
Former Western Nebraska Community College and current University of Colorado-Colorado Springs goalkeeper Jessica Taylor named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference defensive player of the week for women's soccer, the conference announced Tuesday.
Taylor stepped in for injured goalkeeper Kelly Schroeder to hold the Colorado Mines offense scoreless through regulation on Friday. The Orediggers won 1-0 in overtime. She was also solid in a 3-1 victory over Metro State on Sunday, with the only goal allowed coming by way of the penalty kick. She had 14 saves and a 0.99 goals-against average in UCCS’ two matches this past week.
Taylor is a transfer from WNCC, where she was the starting goalkeeper for two seasons. The junior from Longmont, Colo., is a graduate of Skyline High School.
