WNCC volleyball gets back on track with win at McCook


                Oct. 18, 2011 -- MCCOOK -- A day after the top-ranked Western Nebraska Community College volleyball team suffered its first defeat of the season to the hands of No. 11 Iowa Western Community College, the Cougars quickly got back on the winning track by sweeping McCook Community College on Tuesday.
                The Cougars saw a double-double from Danika Youngblood with 13 kills and 12 digs in the 25-14, 25-12, 25-10 win, which pushes the team to 8-0 in the sub-region and 32-1 overall.
                Youngblood also added two aces and two blocks in the win.
                Also for the Cougars, Alyssa Ostrander had four kills; Abbey Wade had five kills, one block, two aces and seven digs; Lais Soares had six kills; Megan Johnson had 10 kills; Fernanda Goncalves had 30 set assists and seven digs; Alyssa Olson had nine set assists; Dani Grace had four digs and an ace; and Alex Rivera had 14 digs.
                WNCC will be back in action this weekend when they host Northeastern Junior College on Friday and Casper College on Saturday in the team's final regular season home contests. Both contests begin at 7 p.m.
