WNCC falls twice in tournament on Saturday

COLUMBUS -- The Western Nebraska Community College softball team dropped two more games at the Jimmy Johns/New World Inn Raider Classic Softball Tournament. The Cougars finished the tournament with a 1-4 record.

After a 1-2 performance in the tournament Friday, the Cougars lost a heartbreaker to open Saturday's play, falling to Iowa Lakes Community College 4-3. WNCC was then no-hit by Kirkwood Community College in falling 9-0.

The Cougars spotted Iowa Lakes three early runs before the Cougars bats started to come alive with three runs in the sixth inning to tie the game. But, Iowa Lakes scored a single run in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good.

Anderson took the loss in the circle scattering six hits and walking just one.
