WNCC women sweep through Colby after downing Dodge City Saturday

The Western Nebraska Community College women's basketball team swept through the Ambassador Classic by registering a 62-52 win over Dodge City Community College Saturday.

The Cougars, now 4-2 on the season, trailed at intermission 25-23, but came back with a strong second-half defense for the win.

Alison Cheney, the Cougars NJCAA pre-season all-American guard, led the way with 26 points. Also for WNCC, Emma Beddome finished with 11 points, while Carly Glisan poured in nine.

WNCC will be off until Friday when they head to the Air Force Prep tournament for three games. The Cougar women's first home game will be Nov. 23 against Eastern Wyoming College in the Thanksgiving Classic.
