WNCC softball camp, volleyball coaches clinic still has openings

Western Nebraska Community College will be holding two clinics in the next week and there are still plenty of openings for both.
On Saturday, April 21, the Cougar volleyball team will hold a coaches clinic for area volleyball coaches of all divisions. The coaching clinic will include a hands-on instruction of activities as well as coaching experiences and motivation sessions. The cost of the clinic is $100 and runs from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Coaches should be prepared to actually do some of the drills.
The Cougar softball team will be holding its softball camp on Tuesday and Thursday, April 24 and 26 at Volunteer Field. The camps will have a special addition this year as camp participants will get to learn softball from former Cougar and a member of the 2009 NCAA champion Washington Huskies softball team Jessica (Ventosa) Pierce. Pierce will be in town for the week helping with the camp.
The softball camp is open for girls in grades kindergarten through 12 grade. The camp runs from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. each day. The cost of the camp before April 20 is $35 and $40 afterwards. Participants are asked to bring a glove, helmet, bat, shoes and be ready for some fun learning of the sport of softball.
Registrations for the volleyball coaches clinic and the softball camp can be downloaded off the athletic website at sports.wncc.net.
