WNCC baseball falls to Colby

COLBY, Kan. -- The Western Nebraska Community College baseball managed just three hits and the Colby Community College Trojans handed the Cougars their 11th straight defeat 10-0 at Colby, Kan.
The Cougars, who have not won since March 25 when they beat McCook 8-6, never could a handle on Colby's pitcher, registering just three hits.
Max Brennen was the Cougars only form of offense, collecting two hits on the day. Andy Padron had the other hit for WNCC. Brennen and Padron also recorded a stolen base.
Colby started the game with a run in the first for the 1-0 lead. That run, actually was all they needed as WNCC was shut out for the xx time this season.
Colby did add three insurance runs in the fourth and then put the game away with six runs in the fifth.
Dalton Goings took the loss on the mound, going five innings in allowing 10 runs on 11 hits. Goings also walked three and struck out two.
WNCC, 11-28, will look to get back on the winning track Wednesday when they face McCook Community College at McCook in one 9-inning Empire Conference match. The Cougars will then return home for a four-game weekend series with Otero Junior College at Cleveland FIeld.

WNCC                   000 000 -- 0 3 2
