Cougar volleyball team takes care of Lamar in three


The WNCC Cougars continued their impressive season with a 30-12, 30-12, 30-11 win over Lamar Community College in a match that saw several players standout. Sorana Pacheco and Bianca Rivera finished with double-double. Pacheco had 41 set assists and 13 points, while Rivera had 19 digs and 10 points. Pacheco also had three ace serves and seven digs, while Rivera had four ace serves and six kills.

Also standing out for the Cougars was Barbara Freitas with 11 points, seven kills and five digs; Leticia Kuhn with eight pints, 10 kills, nine digs and three ace serves; Kendra Schauermann with five points; Stacie Meisner with 11 points and three ace serves; Jennifer Eichler with three digs and 14 kills; Jillian Kelly with six digs and three assists; and Becky Hughes with three kills.

WNCC, now 34-1 and winners of their last 25 matches, will entertain Trinidad State on Saturday at 7 p.m. followed by a home contest with Otero Junior College Monday night and the a road trip to Casper College on Tuesday.
