WNCC men go to 4-0 on the season with 63-58, Cougar women defeat Colby by 21 points

A day after earning his 100th victory, Western Nebraska Community College men's basketball coach Brian Joyce garnered his 101st victory as the Cougar men registered a 63-58 win in the second day of the Ambassador Classic over Ft. Scott Community College Friday in Colby, Kan.

The Cougars, now 4-0, were paced by four players in double figures. Kelvin Franklin led the team with 12 points followed by Drew Eisinger with 11 points and Daniel Smith and Deivadas Busma each had 11 points.

The Cougar women also had a successful second day defeating Colby Community College 69-48. In fact, the women never trailed, racing to a 10-0 lead to start the game and a 29-17 halftime lead. WNCC then poured in 40 second-half points for the win.

SeLina Ysac, Dana Iverson and Jenna Colwell led the women's team with 12 points each.

WNCC will finish out the tournament in Colby on Saturday. The men will play at 5:30 p.m. against Neosha County Community College and the women will face Dodge City Community College in the afternoon.
