WNCC baseball drops doubleheader to Otero Junior College

The Western Nebraska Community College baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Otero Junior College Wednesday on the road.

The Cougars fell 8-3 and 4-1 to fall to 7-7 in conference play and 17-16 overall. The losses dropped WNCC from second to tied for third with Trinidad State in conference play.

In the opener, the Cougars plated two runs in the first inning, but couldn't hold the lead as the Rattlers scored four in the second inning and one in the third to grab a 5-2 lead and never looked back. Greg Crowe took the loss on the mound.

Game two the Cougar bats were silenced once again falling 4-1. Jake Vulk suffered the loss.

WNCC will look to get back on the winning streak Saturday and Sunday when they travel to league leading Northeastern Junior College for conference doubleheaders.
