Lyles, Beddome named to the All-Region IX basketball team

(Miles City, MT) -- The Region IX Women's Basketball Coaches announced the All-Region IX Team at the Region IX Tournament. The team consists of 15 players that were selected by the coaches themselves.

Freshmen
Tonishea Mack and Tahnee Robinson from Sheridan are two that were as close to automatic selections as one could get, the Sheridan duo are numbers one and two in the Region in both scoring and rebounding, respectively. Mack is averaging nearly 21 points and pulling down 11.7 rebounds per contest while Robinson is is scoring 17.6 points and collecting 10.6 boards a game. The Lady Generals also have sophomore point guard Lyndie Neville on the All-Region Team. Neville is averaging 13.8 points, while leading the league in assists (7.8) per contest.


The 12th ranked Lady Pioneers of Miles Community College had two players selected to the All-Region Team. Sophomore post Marta Micula (Poland) is also averaging a double-double this year. Micula is scoring 15.6 points per game and pulling down over 10 boards per contest. Micula also received the coaches' All-American nomination from Region IX. She moves on the national balloting next. Joining Micula is sophomore guard Sarah McNamee (Miles City). On the year, McNamee is averaging over 15.5 points per game while shooting over 37% from behind the arc.

The 25th ranked Western Nebraska Cougars also had two players named to the team, sophomores Chelsea Lyles and Emma Beddome. Lyles is averagine 11.8 points and just over five rebounds per game while Beddome is averaging just under 10 points per game and shooting over 43% from the floor. Beddome is also hitting on 80% from the free throw line as well.

Northeastern Junior College also had two players on the name. Representing the Plainswomen are sophomores Sarah Conner and Kristen Forbes. The tandem are averaging 13 and 9 points per game, respectively. They have led the team to a 24 and 6 overall regular season record.

Ashley Buckner (Northwest) is averaging over 16.5 points per game. Also on the squad is Jasmine Lovejoy from Northeast Community College, on the season she's averaging over 15.6 points. Eastern Wyoming's Skye Smith is averaging under 14 points and more than 2 steals and assists per contest.

The team also features Jenn Harris from Western Wyoming and Natasha Anderson (Otero JC), the two are averaging over 11 points on the season while Josie Stewart from Casper is scoring just over 10.5 points per contest.
