McCOOK - The Western Nebraska Community College women's basketball team received one of its most balanced scoring efforts of the season in rolling to an 83-41 win over McCook Community College on Saturday night in McCook. Four different Cougars found the double-figure scoring column in the sub-region win.
"We really haven't had this type of balanced offensive output this season so it was nice to see it tonight," WNCC assistant coach Jennifer Pedersen said. "Tonight we came out and shot the ball well as a group. I thought our intensity was much better tonight than what it has been in our last couple games."
Stormye Everett led the Cougars' offensive attack with 23 points. Shaquilah Davis also cracked the 20-point mark as she totaled 21 points with four 3-pointers. SeLina Ysac and Janae Willis each scored 10 points.
Ysac finished with a double-double as she led WNCC on the glass with 10 rebounds. Tawny Drexler chipped in with nine boards for the Cougars and Amber Kistler tracked down seven.
Davis dished out a team-high eight assists for WNCC.
In addition to leading the way offensively, Everett made her presence known on the defensive end in the game as she tallied four steals and a pair of blocks.
WNCC led 41-16 at the half.

The win improved WNCC to 18-6 on the season. The Cougars will travel to Casper College on Tuesday.
