WNCC volleyball at Seward County Invite

The Western Nebraska Community College won its 40th and 41st matches of the season with sweeps over No. 14 Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragons and No. 9 Barton County Community College Friday in the first day of the Seward County Invite in Liberal, Kan.

The Cougars won 30-26, 30-15 over Hutchinson and then disposed of Barton County 30-19, 30-15 in play on Friday. WNCC will be back in action Saturday when they face another ranked team in Frank Phillips at 7 a.m. (MST) on Saturday.

Other scores in the tournament so far include Frank Phillips over Barton County 30-21, 26-30, 15-12; Arizona Western over Midland College 30-20, 19-30, 15-13; and Northeastern Colorado over Seward County 31-29, 30-28.
