Delgado was red hot Friday evening, collecting two career highs with 35 points and making six three-pointers. His previous highs came during his senior year in high school when he had 34 points and five 3-pointers.
Delgado, as humble as he is, said his teammates deserve much of the credit.
“This was my high point game and it all came along because my teammates helped me get those points,” he said. “I was shooting well because we work every day on our shooting and shooting percentage.”

“Mike is a great point guard. He is one of the best point guards I have played with,” he said. “He is strong and he looks to run the offense. If you are open he looks to throw the ball to you. He doesn’t care how much points he scores, all he cares about is the team. He is a great point guard and he is doing good things for us.”

The second half turned into a dunkfest early on as Maxwell and Marko Kovacevic had back-to-back dunks early on and the Cougars went on a 29-5 run in the first six minutes of the half for a commanding 85-36 lead. During that scoring streak, Delgado and Maxwell each collected three dunks.
WNCC finished the contest with 14 total dunks, seven in each half. Maxwell had six, Delgado had four, Kovacevic had two and Motley and Mason Smith each had one.
Delgado said this team can put on a show for the fans.

“We have a good team and we have a lot of shooters,” he said. “We have a good post, a good point guard, and we just shoot the ball really well. We don’t have a problem scoring. The offense just comes along as long as we go hard offensively and keeping the fans happy.

WNCC had four players finish in double figures. Delgado had 35 followed by Maxwell with 24, Suarez with 13 and Peltz with 12. Oglala Lakota had three players in double digits, led by Willie Zephier with 31 points and seven treys. Tyson Heart had 19 points and Spur Pourier had 14 points.
In the opening contest of the Cougar Classic, Lamar Community College defeated Little Big Horn College 106-56. The Runnin’ Lopes had four players in double figures, led by Malcolm Brooks with 18. Little Big Horn was led by Treat Hollis with 21 points.
