Western
Nebraska Community College women’s basketball coach Dave Harnish will hold a
girls basketball camp June 16-19 at Cougar Palace.
The
camp will run all four days from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The camp is open to girls
in grades first through ninth and costs $50 per camper and includes a T-shirt
and pizza on Thursday.
The
camp will be instructed by Harnish, who just completed his 26th year
of coaching the Cougars as well as leading them to back-to-back Region IX
titles. Also assistant basketball coach Jennifer Pedersen and former assistant
coach Ipek Turkyilmaz will help along with current and former basketball
players.
The
camp is designed to give campers a competitive opportunity to develop the
fundamental skills of basketball. The camp will teach the camper basics such as
passing, shooting, dribbling, and pivoting. The camp will also teach basic
offensive and defensive situations and will be taught around stations where
individuals will go through drills to mold their game.
For
more information on the camp, contact Harnish at 308-635-6027 or via email at dharnish@wncc.net. Camp registration forms
can be downloaded on the WNCC athletic website at wncc.edu and then Cougar
Athletics.
