"Dig Pink" night at Cougar volleyball game with Otero on Friday

The Western Nebraska Community College volleyball match on Friday will have a pink cast to it when the No. 1 Cougars face Otero Junior College at 7 p.m. Spectators are urged to wear pink in honor of breast cancer awareness.

The evening is being billed as “Dig Pink” in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month. There will be plenty of events during the evening, including raffles that will go to the Dig Pink foundation for breast cancer awareness.

Also, $1 of each admission ticket will go to the Dig Pink organization. There will also be educational flyers about breast cancer as well as give-aways. Both teams will also be wearing pink socks donated by Scottsbluff Screenprinting.

Amy Winters, who was an assistant coach with the volleyball team last year, is a cancer survivor and organized the evening filled with information and fun.

Many individuals and business helped contribute to the Dig Pink evening.
