Cougar soccer split with Coffeyville C.C. Saturday


The WNCC women's soccer team scored nine times to down the Red Ravens 9-0. The Cougar men weren't as fortunate falling 1-0 to Coffeyville Community College.

In the men's contest, Coffeyville scored in the 18th minute of the first half and then shut down the Cougar offense. The men had several opportunities to score, but couldn't find the back of the net.

The women didn't have problem finding the net. In fact, five different players scored goals. Paige Achatz paced the team with three goals and two assists. Bre Perkes and Stacey Agnew each had two goals, and Nancy Boyack and Amanda Arrants had one.

Perkes also collected three assists followed by Ashley Miller with one, Agnew with three, Boyack with two and Arrants with two.

The Cougar men and women will be back in action Wednesday when they travel to face the University of Colorado Gold team in Boulder.
